Still Around

I haven't posted in many months. Life has been busy and no time for blogging. I do try and read blogs on the rare occasion of having a little free time. When you have a little one that does not enjoy naps the days are packed with lots of things to stay busy.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Hope to be back in the New Year.

Random Thoughts

Mondays are so hard for me to get into the swing of things....always a slow start.

Here are a couple random thoughts, nothing deep I promise.

-I'm so perplexed by public nose pickers. Do they think that when their finger goes up their nose that suddenly they have a shield of invisibility?GROSS

-If you see a Mom struggling please offer to ask instead of standing and watching, really so rude!

-Why does my sunless tan come off as soon as I enter the pool and why does my nail polish get nasty from sunscreen?

-Sunshine brightens my day

-Can't wait for the weekend to arrive. I realize it is only Monday.

-The GAP is having a great sale right now. I found some cute white jeans that I'm loving!

Happy Monday

Pray for Baby Cohen

Please stop and say a prayer for Baby Cohen. I do not know his parents, but one day came across their blog In this Wonderful Life. They are very strong, brave, and above all amazing parents.

Cohen is in surgery right now...My heart just hurts for them right now. I myself have said many prayers that all will go well for this baby boy and he will be healed. Please put them in your prayers as well tonight.

Knock don't Ring-Please

WANTED

A sign to let visitors, the UPS man (who we love he brings us packages we love), fed ex man that a sweet sleeping baby lives here now. Anyone else get their little one down for a nap and the doorbell rings. The ring also seems to be much louder, echos, and lasts forever.

How do you kindly let people know to please knock?

Happy Mother's Day

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A friend sent this to me for my first Mother's day It may bring you to tears but it is so sweet! Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers and soon to be Mothers!

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."
Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"
God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"Who will protect me?"
God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.."
God said, "You will simply call her, Mom."

Summer Scents

I love all of Marc Jacobs splash fragrances.

They all are so light and fresh. This new summer collection is inspired by patisserie shop. I can't wait to smell them all.

Cleaning with a pretty necklace

On one of my many trips to Tar-Jay I found the cutest necklace. I could not wait to wear it even around the house with a white tee shirt and jeans....So that is exactly what I did. It sure did make me feel good while I was dusting and cleaning my floors. When I walked by the mirror I had forgotten I was wearing it and put a smile on my face.

The bonus was it was on clearance. I think it will be a great necklace for the upcoming summer.

calling all mommy's

HELP!!!
I need advice from mom's who have had a baby that doesn't want to sleep. My little one was a great sleeper. Would go 4-5 hours at night. Then a switched flipped and will only sleep in my arms or if I am laying down next to him. When I place him in his crib eyes open wide followed by giggles (which are so sweet and make me laugh). We are not getting enough sleep at the SS house.

The past few nights he wakes up only a hour after he ate. From there it goes downhill. Then he ends up in bed with us. I know I know I said I wasn't going to be that mom who let's her baby sleep in bed. But otherwise I can't get any sleep.

So what have you done in the past that has made your little one sleep? Is this a phase or did I create this by loving to hold and cuddle with my baby.

Top 2 Tuesday.......things you can't live without

I am doing this the light hearted way  (like Taylor) I guess basically 2 things I would not like to live without is more like it!
1. I can't start my day without a cup of coffee. It must be good flavored coffee, or as my husband calls it "girlie coffee."

2. Hand cream with a baby I'm constantly washing & and sanitizing my hands. The past couple months this has been my new friend. I can't stand having dry hands.

A Few Favorite Things

With spring on her way (fingers crossed) I thought I would share a couple of my favorite things right now.

Keeping my feet dry from the rain I mean snow.

True sign of spring

Loving so many pieces from LEC. So happy all my baby weight is gone.

Keeps my dark circles under my eyes hidden. Love this miracle hero.

Amazing! Having color on my lips and still being able to kiss on my little ones chubby cheeks without leaving my kisses.

Middle of the night diaper changes so much easier. Anyone know a brand that makes gowns beyond 3 month size?

It's nice to have something cute thrown over your shoulder.

Moby wrap. The only way I get anything done.

Going Private that's the big ?

Should I go Private? I'm not sure if I really have any readers since I took a break.

So this is the big question I have been struggling with since having my baby. I'm very vague on my postings when it comes to my life. Many bloggers put it all out there for everyone to read and I am envious of your bravery. Staying fairly anonymous (no pictures or names) on my blog keeps me protected. Now that I have entered Mommyhood I want to be in the "club" more being able to share pictures, ideas, ask questions I have without all the negativity it may bring.

So maybe if I went private and could limit who could read and see I could open up more....

After reading MM last post as well as BEB's post it  (wish I did) makes me realize there are a lot of rude, insensitive people reading others blogs. Not sure why others feel the right or need to be negative, place judgement or try to bring others down.  I don't know either of these bloggers in real life, but they are such genuine and honest ladies.

I have always tried to live by the words "Treat others like you would like to be treated." Yes, I catch myself being snotty sometimes and have to do a self check and ask myself why am I having ill feelings toward this person?

Private maybe the answer for me.

Vaccinations

As a new mommy I want to do everything I possibly can to keep my little one healthy, happy, and safe.
The dreaded vaccinations....I'm pro-vaccine all the way and can't understand why a parent wouldn't vaccinate their children, but that's a different post for another day. This is my opinion on wanting to vaccinate my baby and I know many others are against them. Please don't judge me and I won't judge you for not vaccinating.

Jenny McCarthy has changed her mind on the MMR vaccine that she claimed gave her son Evan autism. Thanks to the Baby 411 blog for posting this information. I like Jenny McCarthy and even read her first book when I was pregnant.  But so many celebritites make claims about one thing or another and it just bothers me. Many times these individuals are lucky if they graduated high school.

I think it is important for anyone to be careful in the claims they make against medicine. People usually don't realize these medicines go through years of studies before making it to market. Yes, I have a lot of insight on medicine from my career so I feel comfortable making this statement.

As with anything in raising your babies all parents want the same goal to have healthy children.
